RESTORATION MENTORING COUNSELING SERVICES

Adult Drug Treatment Program

Once the participant completes the treatment process, he/she is assigned a drug coach to walk them through the fragile stages of recovery. This is when the participant is mostly likely to relapse. This is usually when Satan will try desperately to place obstacles physically (e.g., joblessness) and mentally (e.g., bringing old acquaintances, whispering negative conversations and thoughts of failure in their ear.)

Note: the drug coach is a person who has already worked the program successfully and is ready to assist with the participant’s daily tasks.

With the help of the drug coach, the participant will set both short term and long goals and discuss objectives to attaining them. This will insure to make it much more difficult for relapse. The longer the participant works the program–the better he will gain strength and knowledge to walk in his GOD-given authority. He will teach and train those following in the rear.

The participant will still have a sponsor to call from the treatment center. He will also have a drug coach (outside the treatment center) holding him accountable as he lives each day. This is a proven process.

Patrick Harris

“GOD has restored my glow and taken me through the nasty, filthy mud and into the clean, fresh palace of life.”

Hi! My name Is Patrick Harris from South Baton Rouge. I pray my mistakes will teach and discourage anyone from experimenting with drugs.

I smoked my first joint at 13 years old, and as time went on, the drugs got more intense and harsh. When I made 17 years old, I was into a life of drugs. From a joint to acid, mushrooms, powder and primos (weed mixed with cocaine). I found love at the age of 23 so my drug usage was reduced tremendously. I was good until the age of 35 when a failed marriage took me from being a diesel mechanic to a full-fledged addict. I found another love in crack cocaine which I thought was love too. Deceived by the lust to get high, I have been through a variety of ups, downs and rollercoaster rides all by the name of crack.

I gave her (drugs) my all, and she gave me nothing in return but homelessness, starvation and unkept hygiene. Excuse me, she gave me two daughters that needed me because their mother was murdered because of her drug usage. I tried all I could to indulge in moderation and stopping on my own but deceived myself because my life had become unmanageable. Besides, the demons wouldn’t let me rest. I was head first in love with Ms. Crack until I ended up in prison. And after 15 years of drug usage I planned to open my mechanic shop once I got home, but the demons met me as soon as I stepped foot out the car. I went hard for one full day and GOD gave me a moment of clarity.

Suddenly, a voice inside me said, “is this really what you want to do?”. Immediately, I went to Restoration Mentoring CS crying and begging for help.

Although they had been counseling me from prison and before I decided to surrender to their program, they never turned me away. I found that Restoration was the place that help me remove the dirt that I had buried on top of GOD almighty. They encouraged me to fight for my sobriety and watch for the devil’s attacks of trying to steal my life. Finally they taught me to pray that GOD’s angels will go before me making my crooked paths straight.

Well GOD restored me back to the real Patrick Harris, and I still have war wounds to remember.

I recommend Restoration to anybody who may be struggling with addiction. They are compassionate and relentless in their pursuit to transition you back into society. Their confidence in me help me to confront the place where it all began–“South Baton Rouge”

GOD has restored my glow and taken me through the nasty, filthy mud and into the clean, fresh palace of life. I am free thanks be to GOD. If you or your family member is plagued by a drug and alcohol addiction, please don’t be embarrassed and give up hope. James "Pokey" Johnson

“I now know that I’m the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, a leader not a follower; and it’s all thanks to God and to Restoration Mentoring Counseling Service.”

Hi! My name is James Johnson, better known as Pokey. I was born and raised in South Baton Rouge. I’m 51 years old. I have spent a total of 15 years of my adult life in prison and the rest of my life as an alcoholic and crack addict. I ran the streets of South Baton Rouge and other neighborhoods across America such as New Jersey, Atlanta, North Carolina, Florida and Texas. I knew I had a problem with drugs and alcohol, and I kept trying to run from my problem by moving from place to place, but wherever I went I took me with me.

I couldn’t shake the habit. From the very first time I tried alcohol and drugs, I was hooked. I always ran with the older crowd, and they made drugs and alcohol seem fun and cool. But I didn’t realize I had stepped into the Gates of Hell. There seemed to be no way, and not to mention no ambition, no goals for life, and no purpose other than getting high. I had nothing to live for, and I accepted my fate that I would die an alcoholic and drug addict.

However in the midst of my struggle, I reached out to Restoration Mentoring Counseling Services. That was the best decision of my life. I’ve never seen someone so passionate and dedicated to helping people get better in seemingly hopeless conditions.

Not only did Lawrence place me in the program that literally saved my life, but his continuous after-care program is like no other. He’s so involved in the solution of making men out of once hopeless addicts. Whether it’s job placement, transportation, food, shelter, or educational help; his company will be there to make sure you have everything you need to live life as a productive citizen. My life has been completely turned around positively, and I’m so excited.

I now know that I’m the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, a leader not a follower and it’s all thanks to God and to Restoration Mentoring Counseling Service.

Give them a call today if you are your loved-one has been trapped in an awful condition.

“Thank you LORD!!, I finally got my life back.”

Please take heed if you’re suffering from drugs and alcohol .

Do you know all the dark can’t stop the light from shining? Negative people told me I couldn’t change; I told them I had to. The dark wasn’t in my way. When I stopped feeling sorry for myself and started praying, l realized l didn’t need sympathy–I needed strength. My life was filled with broken pieces, terrible choices, and ugly truths; but It brought the marvelous light and a major comeback, peace in my soul, and all the damage made me whole. Family and friends turned their back on me because I had given them reason to.

Thanks be to GOD that Restoration Mentoring Counseling Services is located in the neighborhood, and I didn’t have to look far.

Thank you LORD!!, I finally got my life back.

1 year and I month clean and sober from drugs and alcohol (on 06/2020). Glory to GOD. Restoration Mentoring won’t play with you, but will give reality to you just as it is. Call them before it’s too late.

Eric Gray

Hello world!  My name is Eric “Muscle Head” Gray.  My purpose for telling my story is to let the folks who have experimented with drugs and feel overwhelmed know that there is hope. Those that have not tried drugs. PLEASE, DO NOT!  BECAUSE IT WILL DESTROY YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS…

I was born September 16, 1969 to Charles and Ella Gray. I was born in Baton Rouge, but lived in New Orleans for some time as well.  My family was a tight knit group, and my auntie started me tasting her beer at 6 years old. My parents split up, and I had to move-in with my cousin. That was a bad move because they were dealing drugs and jacking [robbing] folks. My eyes became open to the fast-paced lifestyle going on around me. I began to smoke weed and drink more, and I was only 8 years old. It was then that I was given the nickname “Muscle Head”, and I thought that was a badge of honor. But it wasn’t me; it was a person filled with anger, fighting at school every day, and the drugs were steadily increasing in my life.  It was mainly due to me being molested at the age of 9.

“… I began to hear clearly within me a soft voice directing and confirming the things I learned at Restoration.”

Cocaine was then introduced to me, and it made me forget what happened to me by my cousin. Shortly thereafter, my mother and I moved to New Orleans for about three years to be with my father, and things were fine for a while. But then I began to hang out with older people and started getting into trouble with the law. So my mom decided to move back to Baton Rouge. At this time I was 13 years old and really had an understanding about the drug game and started to lean towards that. My mom put me on the South Baton Rouge Rams Football team with Coach Maylan Brooks bka “Choo Choo”. That lasted for about two weeks. I began fighting team members because I thought I was a gangster and couldn’t nobody tell me nothing.

My father bought me a car, and that was the end.  I was driving to school, smoking weed with friends, selling drugs, and getting high on my own supply. I began snorting cocaine and thought I had it under control–hiding it from my mother. Then it reached the level where I was snorting in front of people because I thought it was cool, but was I wrong. I quit school and started selling and smoking and renting my car out to the point my life became unmanageable. I started stealing from my family.  I went from this rehab to the next rehab and none of that worked.

I went from one crack house to the next, and I was extremely exhausted and fed up with life. I decided to contact Restoration Mentoring Counseling Services Inc. The results I witnessed were puzzling to me because the people I had been getting high with for years suddenly got clean, and they all went through Restoration.

My problem was that I made up every excuse not to surrender because I didn’t think it was possible. I teased and ridiculed the people in a negative and nasty way. I became ashamed and embarrassed because they continued to go about their daily lives sober and aggressively defending their sobriety. I knew I needed that peace they displayed… desperately. Well I finally surrendered, and since then the tough love showed me that the man in the mirror that I kept dragging from place to place was the problem. Mr. Legard taught me that if I stopped talking so much and listen, I could learn something. Then I began to hear clearly within me a soft voice directing and confirming the things I learned at Restoration. DO NOT listen to the devil tell you to kill yourself. He is liar and the father of lies. Call Restoration today and start your journey back to a better you. I promise you will not regret it. I work at Brown and Eagle as a Warehouse Forklift Operator, and I have been drug and alcohol free for 14 months (on 06/2020)… thanks be to GOD.
